More than 160 dealers, agents, and industry executives took part in the inaugural West Coast Compliance Summit, one of three concurrent events featured at Industry Summit 2016. And more than 80 of them successfully completed the event’s compliance certification component.

To earn Automotive Certified Compliance Specialist status, attendees of Compliance Summit had to complete the compliance review before taking a two-hour exam. Out of the 101 who sat through the review, 83 of them remained for the program’s two-hour, 200-question exam. And all 83 scored 80% or higher.

Stephen L. Amos, president and CEO of GSFSGroup, delivered his 10-year outlook on the F&I business during his “Career Success and the State of F&I” keynote address.

The “Father of the F&I menu” George Angus shared recommendations for speeding up the F&I process during his “F&I’s Time Crunch” session, which took place the last day of Industry Summit.

Service Group’s Matt Woods, Reahard & Associates’ Ron Reahard, Protective Asset Protection’s Rich Moore and Safe-Guard’s Kevin Jacobs were the featured trainers during Industry Summit’s ‘Trainers Sound Off’ panel session, which was moderated by 2014 F&Idol winner Justin Gasman.

ACE Executive Director Gil Van Over, Mosaic Compliance Service’s Jim Ganther and ARMD Resource Group’s Michael Tuno led 101 attendees through a four-hour review session on the second day of Compliance Summit. It covered a litany of federal rules, guidelines, case studies and scenarios. Compliance Summit also featured a full day of compliance workshops and panel discussions.

The ACE Certified Compliance Specialist program review session and test were provided to attendees of Industry Summit at no additional cost. The program is available at www.AceCert.org, or through a number of national F&I product providers and administrators.

Industry Summit 2016’s exhibit hall featured more than 30 exhibitors, six networking events, cigar rolling, and much more. The magazine’s annual conference heads to the Grapevine Texan Resort Hotel & Convention Center in 2017. The event will be held Sept. 11-14.

Also returning to Industry Summit was Reahard & Associate’s Rick McCormick, who took on objection handling during his 55-minute workshop. His message was to collapse the confrontation, create interest, then repeat.

The first day of Compliance Summit concluded with an open forum-like session featuring the industry’s top compliance experts, including Reynolds and Reynolds’ Terrence O’Loughlin, Mosaic Compliance Services’ Jim Ganther, KPA LLC’s Jim Radogna, American Guardian Warranty Services’ Bob Harkins, gvo3 & Associates’ Gil Van Over, and EFG Companies’ Steve Roennau.
