Pickup fans will have to fork out an extra $5,000 if they want to go Ford and electric for business use.

A 2023 F-150 Lightning will go for a starting price of $51,974, up almost 11% and by 30% over the original price tag in the spring of 2021.

The carmaker cited continued supply-chain problems and inflation pressures on materials, pressures that have driven up the cost of materials for EVs across the industry.

The Lightning is targeted to business and commercial buyers. Ford drew attention for the starting price of the model when it introduced it – a hair under $40,000 and under many competitors’ EV offerings.
