Robertson to Deliver Agent Summit Closing Keynote

LAS VEGAS — David Robertson, executive director of the Association of Finance & Insurance Professionals (AFIP) and the Association of Independent General Agents (AiGA), will deliver the closing keynote address at the third annual Agent Summit in March, according to organizers.

Robertson brings more than 40 years of industry experience to the Agent Summit stage. AFIP has been offering expert-level compliance and F&I management certification since its inception in 1989. AiGA, an ad hoc association, was officially formed in 2005 as a subset of AFIP.

The association, currently led by John Braganini of Great Lakes Companies, has been active on several fronts. “We’ve been successful in some areas,” Robertson told Agent Entrepreneur. “We worked with a product provider to rewrite a vehicle service contract agreement that was disadvantageous to agents. We have spoken out against captive lenders unfairly leveraging their proprietary products.”

At Agent Summit, Robertson plans to offer his take on the sessions that precede his address and identify a “common theme and takeaway” for attendees. Speaking as a representative of AFIP and AiGA, he believes he can offer a clear view of the trends and challenges facing agents today “without bringing bias into the equation.”

David Gesualdo, Agent Summit show chair and publisher of F&I and Showroom, said Robertson was an easy choice. “Dave has earned his reputation as a stalwart advocate for agents and dealers,” Gesualdo said. “He will bring the conference to a fitting close and I’m personally looking forward to his remarks.”
