Chrysler recalled more than 200,000 vehicles over a software issue that can disable their electronic stability control systems.

Dealers will update the software on the 2022 Dodge Durangos and Ram 2500 and 3500s, according to a notice on the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration website.

The vehicles’ antilock braking systems’ control module may disable the electronic stability control system, making the vehicles noncompliant with federal safety standards.

Electronic stability control systems help prevent vehicles from skidding and driver loss of control in conditions such as sudden braking, activating the brakes to help with steering.

The recall affects nearly 212,000 units. Chrysler is scheduled to mail recall notices to owners on July 26.
